Reliant has the team of experienced CO2 specialists ready to provide innovative solutions to harness available carbon dioxide and transform it into a useful product. We can provide a solid design conveniently packaged to align with your unique scenarios and specification requirements. The finished projects are then marketed through our Reliant Gases, Reliant Dry Ice, and FLOCO2 entities. ‍ Our engineering and operation divisions have vast experience and knowledge related to design, fabrication, installation and production applications relating to a broad spectrum of CO2 liquefaction facilities and sources.

What would you do as a Processing - Technical Specialist - A&C (automation & control)

As a Technical Specialist at Reliant Processing, you'll take charge of automation and control operations across our diverse production facilities in California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Mississippi, and Texas. This pivotal role not only allows you to ensure optimal performance within a designated region but also encourages collaborating with other teams as needed. Your expertise will help streamline processes, enhance safety protocols, and drive innovation in our plants.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and create automation systems for new processes, as well as update existing automation systems in both design and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot issues with automation at production facilities, remotely or onsite.
  • Install, calibrate, and configure instrumentation on electrical and automation devices.
  • Manage inventory control of needed parts to limit any related downtime.
  • Properly document all automation processes using control notes and drawings.
  • Ensure software backups of all automation projects (PLC, HMI, controllers, etc.) are securely stored.
  • Study plant processes to ensure efficient control is in place for proper operation.
  • Design and budget various automation and electrical projects.
  • Manage automation/electrical contractors for projects that require them.
  • May work alone or with other electricians, mechanics, contractors, or other plant personnel.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as requested.
  • Adhere to company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Degree in a related technical field or 7+ years of related work experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Allen Bradley PLC and HMI control systems design and configuration.

Experience:

  • Must have Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC hardware configuration and installation experience.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to budget time and prepare work schedule for work to be done; must balance priorities and communicate that priority effectively.
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Travel fluctuates depending on workload and can range up to 50%.
  • The noise level in the primary work environment is usually average.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift items.
  • Regularly required to stoop, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to use hands and arms, fingers, to handle, feel or reach for objects, tools, etc.
  • Occasionally required to move about, sit, stand, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to read, write, reason, problem solve and perform general mathematical calculations.
